Doug Allen has been in the customer service industry since 1975; he understands that making his customers happy is what makes the business world go around. Doug is a resident of Early, Texas. He has been married to Debbie Allen for over 46 years. They have three grown children. They have been blessed with one granddaughter and four grandsons. They have also been self-employed for over three decades and for half that time they were business owners here in Brownwood, Texas as McDonald’s Restaurant Owner/Operators from 1991-2006. 

Doug has worked at United Country—Heart of Texas Real Estate for over thirteen years. In that time, he has acquired a host of loyal and satisfied customers by meeting the needs they bring to him. A few examples of services offered include helping numerous out-of-state people relocate to Texas, manage client’s rental property, and selling commercial, residential, farm & ranch, or recreational property. 

In addition to serving numerous satisfied clients, Doug has been honored with many service awards from United Country during his time in real estate. He has received the bronze and silver pinnacle awards many times over as well as the United Country power award two years in a row for securing over 50 property listings.  Doug and Debbie's office was rated in the United Country Top Offices for 2022-2024.

Doug has earned his business degree from Eastern New Mexico University majoring in Business Administration and Accounting. He keeps updated in real estate by taking continuing education courses through Texas A& M Commerce and the local board of Realtors, Heartland Association of Realtors. Doug received his Texas Real Estate Broker’s License in 2018 and is the Broker for the office.  In 2020, Doug and his wife Debbie purchased the United Country office in Early/Brownwood, TX.

Hi, I’m Shawn Routh, and I’m excited to begin this new chapter as a REALTOR® serving Brownwood and the surrounding communities.

I’m grateful to be starting this new adventure in Brownwood, and I’d love the opportunity to help you find a place to call home. I’m a a wife, mom, dog lover, and now a REALTOR® excited to call Brownwood home.

For the past 32 years, I had the privilege of working in public education. I began my career as a middle school math teacher before moving into school counseling, where I spent more than two decades helping students and families navigate important decisions and life transitions. I later served as a School Counselor Certification Specialist, Director of Guidance and Counseling, and district leader, where I worked with counselors, educators, administrators, students, and families across the school district. My years in education taught me the importance of listening, communicating clearly, solving problems, advocating for others, and—most importantly—building relationships based on trust. Those are the same qualities I bring with me into real estate. Buying or selling a home is a major life decision, and I want my clients to feel informed, supported, and confident every step of the way.

My husband and I recently made the move to Brownwood, and we’re excited to call this community home. We were drawn to the small-town feel, the lake, the golf, and the opportunity to become part of a close-knit community. As we settle in, one of the things I’m most looking forward to is getting to know the people, businesses, neighborhoods, and stories that make Brownwood special. When I’m not working, family is at the heart of my life. I’m a huge dog lover, and our dogs are definitely part of the family! I also love hiking, golfing, and scuba diving. There’s something pretty special about exploring a new trail, discovering a new place, or being underwater and seeing a completely different world. I’m excited to bring my years of experience helping and serving others into real estate and to build relationships that extend far beyond a transaction.
